South Africa

Produced exclusively in south Africa and often called ""red tea"", rooibos (an Afrikaans word which means ""reddish bush""), is not actually a tea, but a local drink of which South Africa is proud, made from the leaves of Aspalanthus Linearis, that the native population has been drinking for centuries. Rooibos grows in the Cederberg mountains and in the Clanwilliam region, north of Cape Town, in an extreme climate, dry soil, raw and exceptional landscapes. Attempts ahve been made to grow rooibos in countries with similar climates, but to no avail! See more
