100% Organic Hemp Herbal Infusions
We have created an all-new collection of hemp herbal infusions, made exclusively from certified organic ingredients and carefully crafted in our workshops in Provence, to offer you a unique and beneficial tasting experience.
Let's take a closer look at the remarkable plant behind all the attention.
What Is Hemp?
Hemp, whose Latin name is Cannabis sativa L. (sativa meaning “cultivated” and “L.” referring to Linnaeus, the botanist who classified the plant in the 18th century), is a herbaceous plant with distinctive palmate leaves.
It is also known as textile hemp, agricultural hemp or industrial hemp. Industrial hemp should therefore be distinguished from cannabis grown for recreational use.
Growing Hemp
France is Europe's leading producer of industrial hemp, with 22,000 hectares cultivated in 2022, and ranked as the world's third-largest producer in 2023 (Source: SEMAE).
Hemp has unique characteristics that make it an environmentally friendly and sustainable crop.
It grows quickly, requires very little water and few pesticides. Its natural resilience makes it highly resistant to disease, making it particularly well suited to organic farming.
What's more, hemp reaches maturity in as little as 100 days, enabling short crop rotation cycles and making efficient use of agricultural land.
Its water consumption is remarkably low, requiring around half as much rainfall as cotton for a similar cultivated area, while being up to eight times more drought-resistant.
An increasingly valuable advantage in the face of ever more frequent periods of drought.
CBD, THC… What Do They Mean?
Cannabis sativa L. contains naturally occurring chemical compounds known as cannabinoids, the best known of which are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a substance naturally found in the cannabis (or hemp) plant. It is not classified as a narcotic or a psychotropic substance.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), on the other hand, is classified as a psychotropic substance. CBD is found primarily in the flowers and in the leaves growing along the flowering stems of the cannabis plant.
Hemp and Its Many Uses
Industrial hemp has a wide range of applications.
It is used in the textile industry (clothing, fabrics, etc.), construction and insulation, natural skincare, papermaking (hemp paper requires no toxic bleaching chemicals and can be recycled several times), human and animal nutrition, biofuels, and many other sectors.
Rising oil prices and growing environmental awareness have renewed interest in the hemp industry. Changes in regulations governing hemp cultivation, particularly its legalisation in many countries, are driving its expansion and creating new opportunities for farmers and related industries.
How to Brew the Perfect Hemp Herbal Infusion
Preparing your hemp herbal infusion only requires a few simple steps to ensure a delicious and beneficial experience.
First, make sure you are using a high-quality product, preferably made from certified organic ingredients.
- Place 2 g of your hemp herbal infusion (around one teaspoon) into a cup or mug with an infuser.
- Pour over water heated to 90°C (194°F) and leave to infuse for 5 to 10 minutes.
- You can adjust the infusion time to suit your personal taste.
A little tip:
To maximise the release of the CBD's naturally occurring active compounds found in the hemp leaves, add a splash of milk or a plant-based alternative to your hemp herbal infusion.
