Homemade Peach Iced Tea: Our Quick and Easy Recipe
When temperatures rise and the sun is shining, there’s nothing better than a refreshing glass of homemade iced tea. Delicious and right on trend, homemade iced tea makes for refreshing drinks with delicious and surprising flavours. Even when served iced, tea retains all its health benefits. A must-have for summer!
#1 Make iced tea to stay hydrated and refreshed
Homemade iced tea is an excellent alternative to water. It helps you stay hydrated while enjoying a healthy and flavourful drink. Whether you choose black tea, green tea or white tea, it will help keep you hydrated while providing a refreshing sensation.
And for people who struggle to drink enough water or for older adults who often no longer feel thirsty, homemade iced tea is a wonderful alternative.
#2 Homemade iced tea: does it contain less caffeine?
Cold brewing, unlike hot brewing, has the advantage of being naturally lower in caffeine. This makes it an ideal drink to enjoy at any time of day, even in the evening. Whether you make homemade iced tea with black tea, green tea, white tea or any other type of tea, you can enjoy this refreshing drink without consuming excessive amounts of caffeine.
#3 Making homemade iced tea: a moment to share
Homemade iced tea is much more than just a drink. It is an invitation to relax, indulge and share enjoyable moments at a picnic, a day at the beach or a barbecue. It is the perfect companion for time spent with friends or family. And at aperitif time, the little ones can join in just like the grown-ups!
Every sip of iced tea is a refreshing escape, a dance of flavours that brightens up sunny days.
#4 Homemade peach iced tea recipe for a delicious variety of flavours…
One might think that the quickest and easiest homemade iced tea recipe would be to brew the tea in hot water and then cool it down. However, this method is not ideal, as hot water releases tannins from the tea, which can sometimes make it taste bitter once cooled.
At terre d’Oc, we prefer cold brewing. This gentle infusion, kept away from light and refrigerated, helps preserve the tea’s aromas and all its natural properties. Iced tea offers an endless variety of flavours and colours. You can personalise your homemade iced tea by adding lemon slices, fresh mint leaves, fresh fruit or even spices (vanilla, cinnamon, ginger…).
Served in pretty glasses or a carafe, homemade iced tea is sure to delight your guests. You can try different combinations to create your own homemade iced tea. Let your creativity run free and use fruits such as strawberries, peaches, lemons or raspberries, along with herbs such as mint or verbena. Add honey or agave syrup to lightly sweeten your iced tea. And don’t forget to serve it chilled with ice cubes.
Now it’s your turn to give it a try!
Our homemade peach iced tea recipe: quick and easy
Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make your homemade peach iced tea:
- 2 bags of organic peach iced black tea from terre d’Oc (20 XL tea bags in a doypack)
- 2 ripe peaches
- Organic honey or maple syrup (if you would like to sweeten your iced tea)
- Optional: lemon slices and a few fresh mint leaves
Preparation:
1. Pour 1 litre of room-temperature water into a glass carafe.
2. Add 2 bags of terre d’Oc organic peach iced black tea to the carafe.
3. Wash and cut the peaches into wedges or slices, then add them to the carafe.
4. Place the carafe in the refrigerator and leave to infuse for at least 5 hours or overnight.
5. Remove the 2 tea bags from the carafe. Serve very chilled in pretty glasses. Keep refrigerated and consume within the day.
If you prefer a sweeter version, add honey or organic maple syrup. You can also add a few pieces of lemon to your homemade peach iced tea for an extra zing, or fresh mint leaves and ice cubes for even more freshness.
Not only is it delicious, but it is also a healthier alternative to industrial drinks, which are often too high in sugar.
