As part of its commitment to 1% for the Planet, terre d’Oc is supporting P-WAC this year, an NGO led by a young and passionate primatologist working in the primary forests of Central Congo. Its mission is to care for and protect primates from poaching and deforestation. This ambitious project actively involves local communities, particularly the women who live in the forest, empowering them to become ambassadors for chimpanzee conservation within their villages.

François is a medicinal and aromatic plant grower in Anjou. Mint, chamomile, borage, calendula, sunflower, fennel, cornflower, and nasturtium are just some of the plants he cultivates with expertise and passion. Together with a network of around twenty dedicated growers across the Pays de la Loire and Champagne regions, he is committed to promoting the richness and potential of the plant world.

Through its commitment to 1% for the Planet, terre d’Oc supports the School of Seed Savers, an innovative educational farm that provides new opportunities for young people facing school disengagement and educational challenges.

As part of the Meetings Between Nonprofits and Philanthropists organized by 1% for the Planet, terre d’Oc funded a small sustainable development project implemented by the association Kynarou. The “PAAGA” project, which combines women’s empowerment with organic farming, is located in the south-central region of Burkina Faso.

The tiny shiny black seeds scraped from inside a vanilla pod with the tip of a knife are often referred to as vanilla caviar. Naturally rich in aromatic compounds, these delicate, glossy seeds offer an intense, smooth, and indulgent flavor. Their complex and lingering balsamic aroma makes them a perfect ingredient for baking and desserts such as custards, cakes, and ice cream.

How can you manage stress? During challenging and uncertain times, when stress becomes overwhelming and anxiety takes hold, creating simple tea rituals throughout the day can make a real difference. These comforting moments help ground and reassure us, soothing both body and mind while gently lifting feelings of sadness and powerlessness.

The Covid-19 pandemic taught us a great deal about ourselves and about our society. It exposed the weaknesses of our development model and reminded us of its vulnerabilities. This global crisis has shown that many of our lifestyles and consumption patterns are based on excess and are no longer sustainable.

Imaginez… 20 tonnes à la minute rien qu’en France, soit 10 millions de tonnes par an ! 1/3 de la production alimentaire est jetée dans le monde, un impact environnemental, économique et même s’il n’y a pas de relation directe de cause à effet, 9%  de la population mondiale souffre de la faim…

Parce qu’une relation en commerce équitable ne doit pas s’arrêter à l’achat d’une matière première et le versement d’une prime, mais doit permettre de développer et appuyer les coopératives, surtout de femmes, terre d’oc recherche des solutions pour les rendre plus autonomes, améliorer leurs conditions de production et diversifier les activités et par là même, les gains financiers.

Ici, les paroles échangées sont entrecoupées du bruit de la machette et du cliquetis de l’attelage du cheval. Assis en tailleur sur un tapis d’herbe, on s’offre un moment de répit.
