China

China, the birthplace of tea, is the world leader in tea production. A proverb says "that a lifetime would not be enough to discover all the teas in China". From white to green, black and blue-green, from red to dark, China grows around 3 millions hectares of tea, mostly on mountainsides, in regions where there is a gentle, misty climate. Each terroir, climate, region and savoir-faire give each tea its unique character. Among the most famous regions, Fujian is known for its exceptional white teas and its blue-green teas such as Bao Zhong, Yunnan for its strong, black teas and Anhui for its full-bodied Keemun (Qimen) teas.
